I think that's important even if the students don't progress past the point of simply recognizing that there are other worldviews and that's OK.

I've studied six languages and lost four and a half of them through disuse. I can still muddle through in Spanish but even my English is going so I don't know how long what's left of my Spanish will be around. I'm convinced that the study of language contributed to my analytic ability. Back in the days when I was hiring people into computer programmer internships, it was pretty clear to me that there was, indeed, a correlation between both language and musical training and programming talent, as had been suggested in the literature. That's all anecdotal, of course.

Spanish is an easy language. If I had kids or grandkids, they'd all have Spanish speaking nannies.
