BMW...
RE:"I doubt we'll be seeing them break even next quarter. This quarter will have a $100 million loss before one time charges. I wouldn't be surprised if next quarter has a $20-60 million loss. Better, but still not break-even"

Well, I didn't say break even Q4 just better than Q3 which will likely be the pits for AMD. Maybe a lot better than Q3.

Intel, on the other hand, can have another one time charge and get another reprieve form the Analysts...by some positive forward looking statements.
As far as Intel strategy...I don't think they need Northwood yet. January would be OK..so I agree with you.

Most enthusists like AMD systems anyway although Northwood may garner some defectors.

So basically i don't see a lot of dissagreement between us here except maybe I think AMD may do better in Q4 than you do...
AMD has a very mature platform to work with now...3 new chipsets, KT266A, SIS735, nForce. They have "a" plan to compare their chips Mhz wise (yeah way too late and probably too little"), the highest desktop performance, are taking some notebook share, and finally have production on Desktop Palomino...That will limp them into next year.

Of course all this is more than a quarter late...
Real bummer is no Sludgepumper until who knows when...
I guess I expect to much to soon...
