I assume you are talking about Gen 18:17-19 and 26:4-5 where God promises Abram and Isaac that they and their seed will prosper. I don't read any Messianic promise into that. Do you think Esau could have inferred Jesus coming from that?

So, aside from being upset about being cheated out of his birthrite and blessing by Jacob (whom God loved), what did Esau do to deserve God's hate? Was he just not bright enough to intuit that God was really talking about a messiah when he promised prosperity to Abram and Sons?
