Dear Bland...: I too have read many accounts similar to what you have posted. What I will never be able to understand is why these people EN MASSE didnt run off in all directions, or attack as a group. I suppose they would have died anyhow but at least the Nazis would have had to drag their bodies to the grave. jdn
