Fla is definitely the place for lightning strikes I and a neighbor lost tv's etc i also have apc's. However since i installed a $45 dollar whole house surge protector on my main circuit box my problems have been only the infrequent power outages, simple to install the supply house will tell you/and or call the manufacturer.
