Commercials covering SP shorts at such a rate that they could soon be net long. So why be bearish short term. Until the economy turns I agree that intermediate term the conservative approach is to assume the bear market remains intact. But part of bear markets is sharp correction rallies. My understanding is that bubbles have always been followed by long term secular bear markets. So valuations have a decade or more to regress towards and overshoot the mean. Why assume this will occur next quarter.
