I was down at Manchester beach a few weeks ago and I saw the same thing just littered with dead lady bugs.

ctulaay this is bout the third year I have had them, but every year it gets more and more. They have been hibernating in the rafters above my studio for at least that many years. Just this year is definitely way more than any previous years.

haven't seen a lady bug in awhile, but we do have a beehive in our next door neighbor's yard, right up against our common wall. And I have see a few large preying mantis.

BTW: Yesterday was the first day of the Santa Ana winds this season and we already have a fire nearby that is several thousand acres and out of control. Very smokey smell outside. I blame bin Laden.
