A press conference not long ago said there were two letters. The Sept 25th letter tested negative, but a Sept 18th letter not tested earlier had subsequently been found to test positive. There was some question about why both letters hadn't been tested initially, or turned over by NBC. But I had tuned in late, and didn't quite get the jist of it. Something along the lines of 'an oversight'.

Flat: Brokaw interview was a shame. Here is a man in a leadership position in this country on the verge of crying about this anthrax incident and they are showing it on television. Word to Tom: stop it. Your staffer is fine. No harm done. You want to cry, Tom, well it is understandable. But damn it, do it in private. Never, ever, ever show the enemy it hurts. Never, ever show the enemy anything but strength and resolve.
