I'm beginning to think that those who have given considerable thought to religious issues and have concluded that they are agnostic or atheist are often far more respectful of the rights of others than the religious among us.

And I'm saying this as a person of Christian faith.

It's intellectually seductive, as a member of a religious group, to feel as though one's beliefs give him or her moral superiority. They don't, IMO, religious beliefs provide a framework, nothing more.

The real advantage of the Internet is that there are powerful search engines that allow quick synopses of huge volumes of data. This is something that printed material just can't provide. While some may argue that the facile nature of the Internet prevents it from conveying real depth, I'd counter that it isn't so much the volume of the material in knowledge transfer as much as it is the effectiveness of the transfer.

Three long pages with no synopsis defeats the point of communication and starts to look like obfuscation and filibuster. Detail is fine when appropriate.

Hi Karen
You should care, because you and others here are constantly slamming people for holding positions that they have failed to THINK THROUGH.

These lyrics seem very fitting for the boxing ring today.

"All lies in jest,
till a man hears
what he wants to hear,
then disregards the rest
la la la la la la
la la la la la ..." S&G

You know, if you took your fingers out of your ears, it would make hearing alot easier.
