If it still exists, the "Y2K Damage" thread on SI makes for interesting reading, lots of worries and warnings with almost no real problems as the clocks rolled over to 2000. Unfortunately our lives are filled with white powder of various kinds that will worry folks for a while, until we see if there is any substance at all behind the anthrax attack scares. And some of the same people who are worried to death about anthrax will drink and drive or just run a red light out of impatience and kill themselves and others in perfectly normal ways that they never worried about at all. Human nature is funny that way.
