BEIJING, Oct 12 (Reuters) - China added a colossal 100 million telephone users in the year to
September as the world's fastest growing phone market grew to 302 million users, both fixed line
and mobile, state media said on Friday.

State-owned giant China Telecom had 171 million fixed line users at the end of September, the
Economic Daily and China Daily newspapers said.

China Mobile Communications Corp, parent of listed China Mobile (Hong Kong)
<0941.HK><CHL.N>, had 95.8 million mobile users at the end of September, the newspapers said.

China Mobile expects to have 100 million subscribers by the end of this year, the China Daily said.

It quoted China Mobile vice president Li Yue as saying China would have 150 mobile users by the
end of this year and the number would exceed that of fixed line users by 2005.

China Unicom Group, parent of overseas-listed China Unicom Ltd <0762.HK> <CHU.N>, had
around 34.9 million mobile users at the end of last month, the newspapers said.

The China Daily quoted China Unicom vice president Lu Jianguo as saying construction of the
