H G, I can't recall if there is a Windows Update selection from the Win95 Start menu. If there is, it should take you to the same place as the link I gave you. From there, when you select Product Updates, the Microsoft site scans your system to determine what updates your computer requires. Therefore, if SP1 is an option to select, you do not yet have it installed. All the updates that are listed are required by your system. I would start with the SP1 upgrade. The SP1 upgrade must be done seperately, no other selection will be allowed. Most of the others can be combined as one upgrade. For my computers, I do ALL the upgrades that are available at the Windows Update site.

Regards,
Nick

The upgrade of your laptop to Win98 should pose no greater risk then upgrading a desktop. Both can have problems in the process but the probability is very low. Having said that, I advise backing up data files and creating a new boot disk first which should be a routine proceedure in any event.
