Chalu, not going to happen..much more likely is that West/Asia would try to gain independance from their natural resources, that would of course spell disaster for them (no water, sand, little agriculture, no diversified industry and only hope is Islam...

I've often thought that colonialism ended much too early and too abruptly.

It's becoming evident that what you say is true. I can't think of one success story in post colonial Africa, although the former French colonies seem to be faring better than the former British colonies.
