Was? Oh, nothing bad (AFAIK). I moved job, and town, and haven't seen him for about five years, so I can't vouch for the contents of his house any more... but I had an email from him last month so unless he's gone skiing since he should be fine. He was a devotee of black runs and off-piste... and the only person I know to have drunk a can of beer while going down a run, and has the photo to prove it (he said the hardest part was keeping his balance while drinking it...) - hence my caveat on his continued existence. <g> Compared to the way he rode his bike, I guess he felt relatively safe: after one description, from a normally fearless 6'5" rugby player who'd accepted a lift from him, I refused ever to ride pillion on one of his little jaunts.
