I'm sorry Greg(s). I wasn't following the conversation between you and X contemporaneously and didn't realize that the article was in any particular context when I responded to it. At your request, I went back and looked at what lead up to the article and I saw a lot of different notions. So I really don't know what the question is. I didn't see anything about Michael Martin leading up to the article. The discussion was about absolutists and relativists and rape. The article was about whether atheism and absolutism are compatible, as least so far as I could tell before the material gave me a headache.

If you want to frame this amorphous question of yours for me I'll take a crack at it. But there's no point in my fishing in that murky water when I don't know what kind of critters I'm fishing for.
