Yes, we have also never really understood the british habit of sending away the 10-12 year young kids to be abused in great schools, by those only one or two year older, almost like in the army. Ilmarinen I have understood the age of being independent and an adult has been suspended to 28/30 years in USA, when it is finally time to get ones own income and expenses, as well as handling the cashflow. (middle class, obviously) The finnish gvmnt, through the magic sauce of taxes, have luckily decided that this should not be the case, one should be able to live independently even as a student from 18-20 years on. Although it now takes another 5-8 years to become productive and start paying (back) those taxes. True investments and long term capitalism, as I like to call it.
