Black socks are required at funerals. And the plaid shorts should be a subdued grey on black pattern. The bowling shirt must be black or at least have a black cover pinned over the sponsor's name, front & back, while at the funeral. A funeral is no place to be gauche, the mall maybe, but not a funeral. Oh, and don't forget the sandals - black or a nice shade of charcoal.
