Hi, CB!

At one point in my life, I was a journalist-in-training. Subsequent events led me to take an entirely different tack but one lesson from those distant days I will never forget: 'good news doesn't sell'. The flip side, naturally, is push the bad news. The media is certainly carrying out its prime directive. My gut feeling is that the so-called 'Anthrax attacks' are being carried by a homegrown nutcase(s) (Unibomber wannabes).

I further believe that the 911 attacks, horrific as the results were, will prove to have been a one-time 'sucker punch'. The otherwise low-tech thugs were, unfortunately, trained by us to fly those Jumbos. I couldn't believe that the guy running the flight simulator operation didn't notify anyone when the trainees (according to him) informed him that they had no interest in learning how to take off or land! (It's not as if skyjacking terrorists are a new phenomenon) Presumably, that sort of laxity will now be remedied. As well, more secure cockpits and plainclothes sky marshals ought to prevent a recurrence.

Good luck to all of us--financially and otherwise.
