I'm not familiar with the way a lot of words are used on this thread

My use of the word, non-believer, in the message to which you responded was non-standard for this thread. It was a small protest against the use of the word, belief, in the article that Poet posted, which used the word from the Osama perspective of Muslim/infidel. Of course, you had no way of knowing that.

We talk a lot about religion on this thread, which is stacked with seculars. I usually use either "secular" or "non-religious" to describe us collectively. Others use atheist/agnostic. We get into the fine distinctions between atheists and agnostics sometimes. I think that's because people use the words differently and some call themselves agnostics when others consider them atheists. We also fuss a lot about moral absolutists and relativists. Mostly we just fuss.

I don't know if the events of the last month will make any permanent change to the way we use words or not. Going forward, I will probably use the word, infidel, for non-Muslims, which wasn't really a word we had much need for until just recently. I think it's a cool word, although it may be too loaded.
