Zahir Shah sends delegation to Pakistan and Colin
Powel arrives Monday in Islalambad expected to
announce gigantic debt relief..

Afghanistan's ex-monarch Mohammad Zahir Shah has sent
a senior delegation to Pakistan for talks with
President Pervez Musharraf, said a report citing
sources close to the former royal family on Sunday.

They said that the delegation left Saturday night for
Islamabad carrying a message from Zahir Shah to the
Pakistani leader.

The US Secretary of State Colin Powel is scheduled to
arrive here Monday evening on a visit of Pakistan.

Minister for Foreign Affairs Abdul Sattar will receive
Mr. Powel at the Chaklala Airbase.

During his stay here, Colin Powel is scheduled to hold
talks with his Pakistani counterpart and also call on
President General Pervez Musharraf.

JACOBABAD: Pakistani police on Sunday arrested
hundreds of Islamic protestors attempting to join a
protest at an airfield which Pakistan has agreed US
forces can use for support operations in its campaign
against Afghanistan, reports our correspondent. A
spokesman said more than 2,000 people had been
arrested. One person was shot dead and at least eight
others injured when Islamic protestors clashed with
police Sunday in protests against US forces using an
airbase here, reports our correspondent. Thirteen
people, including one policeman, were shot and taken
to hospital after police fired upon a mob at Abdal
Shah bus stop on Shikarpur-Jacobabad road.
