<Ike, does Afghanistan have a future as a nation? >

I think one thing that makes a nation good or bad in our part of the southern hemisphere is the good luck of being a colony, now this is one statement that will make many people upset but had it not been for the British institutions we as Pakistan had no future, the people who are supporting this battle waged by US in Pakistan are people who run the country and the business and intelligentsia, forget about the street mullahs but those who have been bestowed by knowledge in schools, colleges are mostly benefited by our colonial past, we have been bestowed with some good education and great institutions and for this some of us can make right choices for the nation that what matters the most.

The leadership should be open-minded and should be able to see the pitfalls, which nations who refused to become as colonial have great problems the middle class that is educated and able to govern well, the ability and possibility of governance is the real test of any failed or successful state in third world where we belong too, Afghanistan and its poverty is a folklore story and quoted form all the northerners who invades sub-continent over centuries, now the inability to accept British and their rule left Kabul and its surroundings with nothing but vacuum a huge rich class that was a warrior class and complete void, we have the same but 30-35% is middle call that have some semblance to some logic and some reason, that has stopped us failing where Afghanis have failed over past few centuries, like Africa the colonial past cannot be overlooked some states who squandered time and accorded ill training and had no institutions have and will slip into nothingness, the only way is to incorporate schools, hospital and accord these Afghanis a will to live, when you haven nothing to live, dying become a luxury, I am what I am today because of little education I was imparted by my master, I shall never forget that…

I am now a free man but I will never ever forget the favor British did to me and my million of nationals, Afghans false sense of freedom have resulted into no middle governing class and will result into further disasters unless the west considers Africa and all these failed states as possible turnaround cases and work hard to get some school and education going, I know hard work and basic infrastructure can change these nations overnight like Bangladesh was called a basket case nation in 25 years from its independence it is growing nicely to become as successful state from our standards at least, education and lack of reasonable culture literacy have destroyed Afghanistan. A hate to glorify my slave past but I am absolutely conscious of this fact that without my schools and without my language skills imparted by colonialists we would also be a forgotten note of history, I also concede that I know we also have lot of ground to cover but I think Afghanistan has lot to blame itself for, false war lordship and hotheadedness does not go well in meddling craft of a nation, you got to yield sometime. In life also one needs to yield and give way. Fragmented AFHGNISTAN is not the answer a country that needs some real infrastructure and that needs some real education that will in a decade or two create Afghan’s WHO MAY be able to MAKE THE RIGHT CHIOCE.
