I wish it had not been the result of a few errors that cost the A's the game. Especially with the outstanding season they had. It's hard to imagine winning over 100 games and still being in 2nd place and that far behind Seatle. It looks like your A's have a core of great talent. That is how the Yankees started this run they have been on for the past 6 years or so. The core of Jeter, Berney Williams, Paul O'Neil, Tino, Jorge Pasada, Andy Petite, and Rivera help who ever comes to thir team to act and play like champions. In '94 the young team got robbed of the playoffs due to the strike. In '95 I believe either Baltimore or Cleveland knocked them out of the play offs. They learned from that and won in '96. Losing in '97 helped them build the character they have now. Perhaps the A's will build off of this defeat. Hopefully most of the A's team will stay intact. If they can sign Giambi and keep that pitching, I'm sure they can build a very sucessful dynasty. The only edge the Yanks had here was their calmness under pressure. And the ablility to step up when it has been needed. It seems evident that their bats are not as lively as once were. I hope they have what it takes to beat Seatle. If you ask me, I think that series is going to be better than the World Series. I believe the winner will beat who ever the National League send up there. Tell Scott I wish him good luck, but not too much good luck. They don't need luck with the pitching and hitting on that team. I'd tell him myself, but I can't. It's taboo. -g Edgar Martinez haunts the Yankees. -ClappyThePinstripedJackass
