I don't know what kind of binders were used in Asbestos products in buildings in Europe.

(My uncle was underground superintendant for Canadian Johns Manville in Ontario where Chrysotile was mined underground. There was also a chrysotile plant with poor dust control in my town for 25 years. I don't recall any Asbestos cases related to this plant or underground mining.)

I would first find out what type of product was used in the building. If it were Chrysotile and you cannot get an injunction to show cause and fight the removal order based on the fact that hazard in the case of this product has not been proved, then removal with a standard cotton pinch nose dust mask would be adequate. Launder work clothes daily and do not bring them home as a precaution for any high dust environment. (that includes fibreglass insulation and gypsum.)

If it is Blue Asbestos, and there is a chance it is unbound, then wear a Racal full face power respirator, with a 0.50 micron filter. One filter must be changed every day. Cover your hair with an impervious net and wear throwaway gloves with rubber wrist straps. Do not allow product being removed to lay about in the public with broken edges. Load a container with a box in a truck and close it often. Do not sweep the product. At lunch, wash face and hands well and do not eat on site. Vacuum clothes well with a shop vac using a liquid filter or fine industrial filter before removing respirator. Shower at work, clean finger nails and vacuum all clothing at work every day. Do not store your street clothes in the same ventilation space as your work clothes. Vacuum them every day too with fine paper filter vac. Wear a 3M 8710 cotton mask while doing this.

A key to working in dusty environments is not to work hard. Heavy breathing is bad even with filters. If you can at home every day go for a two mile run. This will clean your lungs out of all dust completely. Do not smoke on site or during the period you work on the site if you can.
