I was going to say maybe now people will start ordering over the Web, but they can't do that because the mail has anthrax in it. I spent two hours opening mail over the weekend.....and I am still alive, no flu symptoms yet. <g> I have decided to change nothing about the way I live. I am not even on "alert".....still the same nearly asleep wandering dog I always was.

My hairdresser was scheduled for a body building competition in San Diego a couple of weeks ago. She canceled and rescheduled for a Nov.10 event in Kansas City, so she can drive. She's a person I wouldn't have seen as fearful, but she told me she definitely is afraid to fly now.

I leave the house twice a week out of necessity, not fear. Unemployment for 10+ months tends to rein in one's patriotic spending habits. A three-mile round trip to a supermarket is a bit of an inconvenience on foot with a cane and carrying groceries. There are a lot of people who will be in much worse circumstances who will not relish the idea of $5/gl gasoline (look for a price closer to $7-$8/gl if we have to compete for what's left of the world's non-middle east oil). Recession and hunger will cause a lot of people to move patriotic sacrifices down a notch or two on their personal priority list. The best solution is to get in and do what GWB promised; you're with us or agin us. We need to start acting like the world's only superpower and kick ass. We're not choosing sides for a picnic baseball game. There are no "rules" of war, no timeouts, no holidays. Ramadan be damned. War is the human version of the law of the jungle: Eat or be eaten. I for one do not intend to be a happy meal for an insane army of Islamic terrorists trying to recreate the 7th century. GWB's marching orders for the troops should have stamped on them "Nuke as Needed. We need to do a Slim Pickens (last scene from "Dr. Strangelove") on these fucking cavemen. Chas
