I don't know why you pay any attention to len. Buying and selling gold and diamonds isn't illegal. Illegal drugs are, but no nationality has a monopoly on the resale of illegal drugs. The monopolies are basically in the hands of the producers. len says he uses marijuana and hashish? That also means that unless he's a producer, he's buying it from some of those nefarious characters he's against. LOL LOL. You make the same mistake that you are accusing me of...are a majority of Moslems running heroin? I am thinking you are just overly sensitive to criticism of Zionist ot non-Zionist Jews or Israel. That is my opinion. Who is neglecting the other scumballs that you name, ie. Italian, Chinese, Russian or Irish mafias? They are no better. The point being is not to point the finger because the same is going on with the accusers. Sand-diggers? Are you using a homophone here? As I stated previously, you are comparing the West with underdeveloped countries who have suffered from too much of Western colonialism.

There, in a middle-class neighborhood that the emigres have dubbed "Little Odessa" because it reminds them of the Crimean resort, what started as a small criminal element has been growing in numbers and power and becoming increasingly violent. Prosecutors in New York and Florida say they have uncovered ties between the immigrant gangsters and the long-established organized crime groups the Justice Department calls collectively the Mafia or La Cosa Nostra. Campanella is one of five detectives in the intelligence division who are assigned to the "Russian Desk," a special unit that has identified about 400 immigrants who are suspected of belonging to about a dozen crime bands. O'Connor, the head of the special unit, says the groups have been implicated in a variety of swindles, including selling fake icons and counterfeiting currency and credit cards in New York and other cities. The American Express Co. alone estimates that credit-card swindles by emigre groups have cost it $2.7 million. Frauds engineered by the emigres have fleeced New York diamond dealers of more than $1 million in gems over the last five years, according to detectives. Campanella said that since 1982 seven murders in the city have been attributed to the emigres. Some of the deaths have been linked to disputes between rival organizations; others are thought to have been executions df suspected informers. The bloodshed, police say, has prompted several gang strongmen to take to bulletproof limousines. Recently, in separate cases in Long Island and Florida, nine men identified as emigres from the Soviet Union -- all living in the New York City area -- were indicted along with known Mafia figures on charges of large-scale gasoline bootlegging and tax evasion. Law enforcement officials identified members of the Colombo and Genovese crime families as accomplices.
