I have raised a very important issue, the will to live free, why this rich culture allowed undignified submission to the warlords from north for 800 plus years from Mehmud Ghnaznvi of Somnath to Tughlaqs to Moguls, a rich culture encourages freedom of mind not submission like sheeps? Our inability to express and demand freedom was failure of our social milieu. It is not English that gave us an edge neither knowing English makes some one better or worse but it is that tryst with taste of freedom, taste of rights and taste of constitutionalism, the enlightened culture of the founding immigrants led to American revolution in a very short span of colonial rule, the Boston tea party, to live in slavery is disgusting for a man, any culture that permitted it was poor, any culture that permitted division of man, based on caste is poor and will be poor, any culture that makes distinction of man based on self certification of nearness to God is criminal. From minority Muslim rule to majority Hindu rule our healing spirit was missing, that is the point, yes numbers and million of other things Indian sub-continent bestowed the world with everything but it did create division of man. In Islamic areas based on orthodoxy in Hindu areas based on untouchables and caste, it encouraged it rather. The extreme of poverty in our society could not have existed in a rich culture, as extremes would have been checked by social meddling, we are grossly unconcerned with the fate of our poor and that is a sign of a poor society and poor culture, in rich culture our people should live with dignity, peace and they should not be selling their Kidneys so as to live on one. On cricket, tea and knives and forks, it is most unfortunate that all failed southern hemisphere states the 'poorest of the poor' all had strong tribal resistance to colonialism, like Afghanistan they cannot play cricket but they can't do anything else alos properly other than growing poopy, why don't they grow grian becasue that needs infra structure of irrigation that does not exists. The don't eat with knives and spoons but that is not a problem, rail structure does not exist that lack of mobility is greatest of the problem, there are no hard targets and irrigation is medieval, until the last Mogul King Bahadur Shah Zafar Indian sub-continent social structure was as bankrupt as Afghanistan. The tradition of ‘satti’ or denial of basic right to humans based on where and to whom you are born are darkest stigma on our conscious, I feel very miserable about it and I don’t have problems to admit where my soft belly lies.
