IMO, it's nonsense to call this "colonialism" when those countries actively court our dollars. "Colonialism" implies force, like England in India, which is not the case here.

The proof would be to cut off purchases of ME oil, and supply only food as humanitarian aid. That would quickly change their minds about the bad old USA. The royal sheiks would cry in their caviar. And already are starting to:

We need to learn not be stupid enough to give cash and weapons to their "government" warlords and corrupt intermediaries, no matter how much they donate to our politicians. It's our fault for electing idiots to begin with.

We should only food and business transactions, and only if they don't support terrorism. Our CIA has to pay attention and tell us about that, and not keep it to themselves. Time to clean house over there.

Congress doesn't really represent we Taxpaying victims here being blown out of our office buildings and poisoned. So it has to be a grassroots effort if we're going to eliminate support for "extreme madness". Time to clean both those Houses.
