I think there's a better explanation A fellow named Paul Hawken (of Smith & Hawken) said in 1989 the projected 2 Billion underemployed young men on this planet by 2005 would create a breeding ground for Hitlerian demogogues. This is what we are seeing the early stages of. Being a business theorist his solution was unique, and has stuck w. me ever since. We have since the Industrial Revolution tried to automate and uncreate jobs. His solution is to change that mindset 180-degrees and go all-out to learn how to create jobs. What a great idea How do we do that? That's a much better idea than the paternalistic foreign aid nonsense that is presently corrupting the third world.
