Hydrogeology and groundwater modeling was my interest. I could have landed a job with the U.S. Forest Service, but I'd be afraid of having to fudge reports to let local lumber companies cut trees.

Everyone I've ever met in health care wanted to help the patient. Rarely did I meet anyone in any development organization of a medical device company that didn't want to help the patient (one guy was an exception, a VP of Ops who seemed more interested in his quotas and bonus than the accuracy of the device and reagent).
