I remember when Greg Lemond won his first Tour de France, the French were deriding him because he didn't do it with style, that he didn't have "panache". Maybe not, but he won. And then he came back and won a couple of more times and each time they scoffed because he did not have panache. But he wore the yellow jersey, got to take home the trophy and got to fill his bank account with the prize money. There is a very important "America 101" lesson in that for the world, if they are interested.
