I am an empiricist, God help me.

I am terrified of any appeal to an absolute that invokes God as the source. If there is a God, our knowledge of him is necessarily imperfect and unreliable. I have never understood how people can profess there faith in and therefore there ignorance of the omniscient and the omnipotent, while professing to know enough of His intent to justify the murder of their fellows. In the dictionary, under "benefit of the doubt" this should be the first entry: "doubt that you know God's intent well enough to kill your neighbor in his name"

I'm getting biblical here aren't I?
