ASML cuts more jobs, steps up SVG integration AMSTERDAM, Oct 16 (Reuters) - Dutch semiconductor equipment maker ASML Holding NV (NasdaqNM:ASML - news) said on Tuesday it would cut an additional 1,400 jobs, or 17 percent of its workforce, in the first half of 2002. AMSL has previously said it would cut 600 jobs. The company said in a statement it would also speed up the integration of recently acquired U.S. Silicon Valley Group (SVG), adding that the total restructuring costs would range between 370 million and 430 million euros. ASML Holding said it had taken these measures as a result of the continuing deterioration of the semiconductors industries. ASML is the world's largest maker of scanners and steppers, machines which map out semiconductor circuitry on silicon wafers.
