I was about to sign off and saw this. I might be misunderstanding the nature of this exchange since I haven't been following it, So correct me if needed.

Poet believes in the existence of sin, of moral wrong and outrage, let me tell you.

She believes, however, that homosexuality is not a sin. She's not alone in that belief nor is she without good company. This is controversial, I know. But it is a controversy that is worthy of respect.

"Mommy, mommy, can I be gay so I can be a hero?"

Gimme a break, Greg. So, if a robber gives his own life up to save a woman and her child from being killed in crosswalk accident, the fact that he was a robber isn't relevant? Society at large treats gays like criminals. In fact in some states homosexual laws are still on the books. Even in California, the CHP selectively prosecutes people in places where gays seek other gays. In your opinion, it is wrong to put a human and positive face on people who usually only get blamed for the decline of Western Civilization? B.S. The fact of gayness is a relevant part of the story in my opinion.
