I hate to admit to watching CNN briefly last week whilst out of the country on vacation..but during one particularly melodramatic 15 minute period I counted the number of times the anchors, the reporters and the talking head experts uttered the word ANTHRAX: 32 times in 15 minutes. Now consider this.. if you were a terrorist or a nut and you had just a tiny little bit of anthrax bacillus and you wanted to really screw up the whole country what would you do with it? Why, put it in envelopes with talcum powder (to stretch the supply) and send it to the blabbermouths of the western hemisphere..the national news media. Sending some to the Senate Majority Leader is a close second..but the media are the bigger blabbermouths because they own the loudspeakers.
If terrorists are behind this they worry me. They are way smarter with fewer resources than I had expected.
Imagine what they could do with MORE resources...
The audio is once again turned off on CNBC here. The ticker and a glance at morning headlines are all I need to know for now. Anything else is just yammering.
