I don't know what to tell you other than that Ft. Lauderdale should be somewhat easier to negotiate given its' size. I would ask the airline and do what they tell you and if anything goes wrong that you don't make your flight you have a basis to complain. Whenever they put our airport on TV there is a big, big line of people. When I go there the security screening takes somewhat longer but not a lot longer. We buy E tickets as they are cheaper thru the airline. Then we go to a ticket office and get a paper ticket so we don't have to go thru the checkin line up front. We have been carrying on our luggage so we don't have to check bags. Hope this is helpful.
