Puff the Magic Dragon. actually, unclewest made an error, the Spooky aka Puff aircraft were not AC-130's but rather AC-47's. We housed a squadron at my base in Pleiku. They routinely "worked out" near our base as a perimeter protection force. They were a truly fearsome sight to behold. The memory of the sound of the deep lion-like growling roar of the gatling guns, echoing off the nearby hills still raises the hair on my neck. wpafb.af.mil --fl
