did you trust the last administration?
Yes I did. Know why? it's not because Clinton always told the truth, he plainly didn't. What he did was telegraph his lies. This is a common technique in polite society and I having grown up in the South U.S. recognized and understood it right away. Clinton was a master at it. When asked inappropriate questions he gave the answer that was expected, but he also gave the appropriate wink or nod or finger wag to let you know what the real answer was.

It made me sick to see all the hypocrites tear into the veneer of politeness that allowed civil conversation. Now you can see the legacy of Gingrich, and DeLay, and Barr in the acrimonious discourse that is the norm of today.

You might ask why don't I trust Bush since he is just as transparent a liar? The answer is that Bush isn't in charge. I can see what Bush is saying but I don't know what Cheney is telling him, or Rice, or Jim Baker, or his old man. It's the people behind Bush that you don't see that I don't trust. It's the hidden agenda.
