I am not sure that is relevant to the criticism, but it is true enough. I like "Bananas" pretty well, but it is too schticky for me. I am more a "Manhattan", "Annie Hall", "Hannah and her Sisters", "Husbands and Wives" kind of guy, though I also like some of his serious movies, like "Interiors" and "Another Woman", and dislike some of his supposed comedies, like "Crimes and Misdemeanors". I liked "Sweet and Lowdown" better than most of his movies of the last several years. Also, if you are interested in Woody, see "Wild Man Blues", a documentary of his European trip with a New Orleans style jazz combo.........
