"But none of that is going to happen."

Be of good cheer ... it will happen

The point in starting this Consumerist Politician approach is this:

With the information technology revolution, we lowly Consumers can influence political and military policy in realtime, with the push of a button.

Millions of us can remove hundreds of billions from those spoiled Royals and those training camps worldwide, and let them focus on more human activities, such as taking care of their families, instead of their yachts or weapons.

Companies that provide a choice for consumers of oil products, at the gas pump and point of purchase, or point of payment, will make $$ Billions. We'll buy their stocks like crazy, and their products, which don't have to be more expensive, but could be, and we'll still benefit.

This is too good of an opportunity to pass up. I'm waiting to see who goes first...

It is clear, as you suggest, that our Congress and gov't fail to represent us, the citizen/taxpayer/consumer/bombing-victims. But, we vote them in w. a somewhat flawed election system, and this is our fault for failure to fix the process.

As enlightened Consumers, we have more influence than anybody has imagined. The Supreme Court can't mandate that we buy Saudi oil, once we know who sells it, and who doesn't.

The first one who advertizes non-ME oil at our gas pumps gets the prize ...
