Hi mindmeld,

I believe that everyone agrees that the best time to invest in a sector is when it's beaten down. And that's the reason that I took a position in GLW recently. The problem here is that lots of sectors are beaten down badly, not just telecom. And to make things worse is that although lots of them are beaten down as compared to their previous highs, they are still quite expensive using any traditional valuation model excluding the models Abby et al used in the bubble days.

I was talking to one of my colleague yesterday at a dinner party. he told me that he rode CSCO all the way from 20 to 80, and then he stopped looking at the price when it dipped below 15. And he rode NT from 40 to 70ish, and then all the way to 5. He believes that these issues are extremely undervalued and his only argument is that these guys are down so much, so they has to be way undervalued!

He is a pretty smart guy and a senior project leader. I guess that his opinion still represents what most people think. Wondering what will happen after they learn a little bit more about the history of valuations on stocks.

good luck,
larry
