Slider, nice to see you made back from Canada -- and you're still alive! Your commentary is dead on, here's an editorial from the National Post that’s only a scratch on the surface of incompetence regarding our politicians.

A moratorium on refugee landings is vital for Canada
Diane Francis -- Financial Post

Over the weekend, 50 Afghanis and Pakistanis without any identification flew into Toronto's Pearson International Airport and were released automatically after they uttered the magical R-word -- refugee.
............................................................
They were released even though no one knows who they are. No one knows where they are now. No one knows if they have AIDS or TB. No one knows if they have criminal records or are wanted by police forces elsewhere. No one knows if they are violent, or heroin dealers or petty thieves.
............................................................

A Financial Post reader, from Pakistan, called me this week to alert Canadians to another scam by a ring operating out of Cornwall, Ont., and Montreal.

The group has funnelled hundreds of Pakistani undesirables into the United States and Canada.

"The hardworking ones go to the States but the lazy ones stay here because Canada gives anybody welfare for life," said the source who asked me not to use his name.

concerning Border crossing, my 2 cents:
I am a landed Immigrant in Canada. (I have a house in Montreal, but live currently in Albany and Florida ) I am an Austrian Citizen!
This just ,so you understand my position.
I drove to Montreal for the weekend! Crossing the Canadian Border at 6 pm Saturday, big line up, they checked every car, returning to the States Monday around 7 pm, I was the only car and I was not checked at all at the Us immigration point Champlain in NY !
Now go figure ! ( Who is lax here?)

Hi Slider:

I posted the next post before reading on. Oh well sometimes that happens. Hope you enjoyed your stay here, and BTW besides those you saw, there are more!!! Did you notice Peter, Frank, Kastel, me and the other Canucks from SI on your trip. We were the only ones without our heads in the sand.

We've had libleft gov for 80 - 90% of the time. I laughed when our Minister of Defense said we were aiding by sending those ancient Sea King helicopters. Ten years ago Kim Campbell, our short time, female Conservative Prime Minister got laughed out of office for wanting to replace them. Of course the Liberals have been promising to do it ever since doing a flip flop right after the election in policy but never implementing it in practice. Time for out of the box thinking all over NA.

When you crossed the border would you have minded being given an electronic card to keep with you at all times in Canada and handing it in when you returned? I wouldn't mind if I went to Florida for a vacation. This idea of carding the citizens is nuts, but it's time to card everyone else, their movements, whether students, businessmen, financial transactions, computers flagging those with no financial transactions a sure sign something is amiss. Caught without your card you're gone. I heard Bob Dylan wasn't recognized going into his own concert but the guards stood their ground as he hadn't the proper credentials, I don't think he minded. But yet our borders are all sieves as you say and it's got to stop for the benefit of all NA.

Other wars can be fought at the same time, you're right. Besides trying to help with terrorists the citizens should help with all other crime as well. No more "I don't want to get involved." Drugs, extortion, pimping and prostitution, etc.

I agree with your stance on the markets, but anyone else I talk to thinks I'm nuts, except a few of course. Did you go to Ottawa? Have you been west from there to North Bay, Sudbury and Gold points north through the Canadian shield? Pretty isolated in parts, but one of ours Lorne over on the GPM has muslim clients north of Sudbury.

Wish you were wrong about the numbers that have been rounded up and how prepared we are. There's the other side of the world to deal with over the long haul as well. We need a Margaret Thatcher type Mulim leader, stronger the Bhutto. To find one I suggest that instead of letting the Northern alliance take Kabul that the US and allies go in. Take as many women military personnel as can be spared. Have engineers build giant drive in screens as amphitheatres in hills around Kabul. There may be some newly created it seems. Do something like Panama I'm not sure just what, but maybe translate Xena Princess Warrior (I've never seen it, but like the name), you get the idea. Have the women (since that's all that will be left except the very young and in utero) break the yoke. There will be many more women left than men when this is all over. They must not allow themselves to be suppressed. Perhaps their leader will be the one who wants Binny captured alive so she can have the pleasure of castrating him!

Gotta go

Bob
