Officials Call Brussels' Delays in Providing Key Data on Terror Attacks an 'Anomaly'

BRUSSELS
Efforts by U.S. investigators to view evidence collected in Belgium concerning the plot to blow up the U.S. Embassy in Paris as well European links to the Sept. 11 attacks have been stymied by Belgian authorities, according to senior U.S. law enforcement officials.

U.S. investigators have not been permitted to interview suspects in Belgium. Crucial information and evidence some six weeks after it has been obtained has still not been shared with Washington, and possible clues to the European network of Osama bin Laden have most likely become stale and useless because of the delay, law enforcement officials said.
