Gen. Pervez Musharraf seemed to me, to be sitting on a very weak government. It is possible that he didn't have the backing to shut down the terrorists within Pakistan, and hold onto his job.

Evidence? Since the US has allied itself with Pakistan, military generals connected to the terrorists have been fired.

If Gen. Pervez Musharraf's government is strengthened, and if the US stays active, perhaps there can be true peace between India and Pakistan.

Possible? Impossible? Too hopeful? Naive?

Lola- Pak had the choice of war with the US & India or becoming an UNwilling ally that will receive millions in aid for decades... not much of a choice even if the govt kills 50% of the population to survive. Additionally, they must look at this as an opportunity to actually have someone else be responsible for the shutting down some of their problem children...
