Do not forget there are differences between Sunni and Shia and extremist factions.

I hear Bin Laden and extremists in Pakistan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Iraq badmouthing us.

I think Bahrain, Jordan, Syria, and most importantly, Iran saying less offensive stuff. If Musharraf can maintain and India/Pakistan can cool their rivalries for awhile, Iran may emerge (surprisingly) as the stabilizer, politically and economically.

Iran's Shia are culturally tied to the Pushtun, and does not act in concert with the Sunnis at times.
