I don't believe I said they achieved a majority (because I knew they didn't)- but they did consolidate power rather effectively after the depression (which is what I said, I think), and I would be willing to bet they reflected the will of the German people much more than the Taliban reflects the will of the Afghan people.. You will recall in a few of the tries for chancellor there were runoffs because no one achieved a clear majority. I cannot remember the number of political parties active before the Nazis made themselves the only political party.

I thought the mention of the Germans as compared to the Taliban was silly, and I still do.
