I suppose your real complaint is that Afghanistan brought down the Communist Russia. Get over it.

You telling me Bin Laden wouldn't have been someplace else? Yep. He had run out of countries to hold his training camps and protect him. The Saudis had long ago chased him out. Sudan chased him out. Iran and Iraq wouldn't touch him. He had no place else to go. Maybe he could have found some sort of refuge, but not the kind of government support that he needed. If Bin Laden hadn't had Afghan support and assistance, I do believe that September 11 would have been just another Tuesday in the USA.
