Mitch, I guess their belly buttons weren't deep at all. <G> As to eating of the tree of life: I believe that life was sustained by food then as it is now, but the tree of life kept the body alive forever by regular partaking of it. If they had kept their innocent state, they would have had unending access to it. As to why: I think it's because God didn't want to create beings who had no need of Him once they were alive. He wanted them to have freedom with Him, not without Him. And, eating is also for fellowship and bonding; a reality we all know very well. Take care, Stan
