I remember that one too. I haven't lived in England for over 20 years, so I'm sure you're right.
Jerusalem? Umm, I bet that upsets the Muslims. Aren't we supposed to be sensitive to their feelings even after they killed 7000 of us? Many Americans don't realize that wars between Europeans and Muslims have been going on for over a thousand years, it just finally made an impact on US soil. The sleeping giant has been woken and won't rest until it can sleep in peace again, IMHO.

Super. If you guys give up "God Save the Queen," then we can have "My Country 'Tis of Thee." We've had questions off and on about our National Anthem and the various alternatives. "My Country..." might fill the bill. It's message is about patriots and freedom, not bombs bursting in air, it's singable, and it doesn't mention god until the fourth and last stanza. It would be perfect except, of course, for that pesky little problem that it's melody is just the same as your anthem.
