Hopefully, the US will never be as complacent again as it became during the 90's when we thought we had no serious enemies since the end of the cold war. This was a big wake up call and probably more of a surprise to most Americans than it was to me. Mainly because I am older than the median age here and have travelled and read more than most here.
All I meant was that we will need to be reassured that the danger is eliminated or at least drastically reduced before we go full heartedly back to peace time activities like bickering amongst ourselves all the time again over other issues. Hopefully, our freedom will not have been curtailed too much by the time this war against terrorism is over. Immigration policies and enforcement of existing rules will have to be drastically improved, IMHO.
Has anybody except Pat Robertson even mentioned abortion as an issue since September 11th?
