What else can Blair say - talk is cheap, especially if you don't have the means to bring about your promise. Fisk had a good piece in yesterdays Independent - about false promises made in time of war. The 'Palestinian State' seems to be the latest conversion on the Road to Damascus - first for Bush junior and now Blair. A lot of the people I talk to have faith in Blair (vs. Bush) because of his superior intellect, ability to learn etc. To me he is a man who likes the sound of his own voice - visions of being a latterday Churchill, Maggie - all rolled into one. And at the same time being Ameica's proconsul. And in the meantime hs is dragging London into the front line for retaliation.

"Blair can talk the talk but can he walk the walk?'"

He is perhaps walking the plank right now.
